always an experience…
There is a big mango tree in my neighbor’s yard, its the first time I see the big bats, the one’s that look like big rodents with wings! Maybe they are called fox bats or something, pretty interesting to watch and they are huge. Last night my friend Ryan returned to The Gambia. I helped him move into his place and opened the door and what a surprised. We switched the lights on and both of us screamed like little girls when we saw about a dozen 2 inch sized cockroaches! It took us about 20 minutes to hunt each and everyone of them down. I just made a comment to Ryan “Welcome to The Gambia!”
Monday…
Thanks to my parents, I have some comfortable furniture in my place now. JEREJEF (thank you). Its a very humid day and enjoying some wifi and a cold Orange Fanta drink with friends here at Timbooktu. Wanted to share a few more pictures with you all. My final language test is tomorrow, need to prepare for that also.

You know when your in The Gambia….
When your in a car and get stuck in mud and can’t get out. Call a tow truckor AAA? Not a chance, just wait to get 10 people to help you push it out. When your in a small bus and it backs up and runs over a donkey. I seriously thought it was a big tree branch but that was the bones breaking. I’m trying to get that mental picture of the donkey and that event out of my mind. I’m very hungry and its time for lunch. Happy Sunday everyone.
Timbooktu
Well, I’m back at Timbooktu, a bookstore and upstairs is a small cafe with wifi. I’m lucky this time, I didn’t have to wait til the server was back up. Plus its nice to be in a building with A/C, its so hot and humid outside! Wanted to post a few more pics for today…

Gambian Time….
There is a saying that Asian time is pretty slow, well, welcome to the Gambia. My two and half months of PST seemed like one year. Then I think, it actually officially has not started yet!! It feels like its evening time and I haven’t ate lunch yet! I am going to meet a new friend for dinner tonight, hopefully try a Chinese restaurant. Yesterday, I ran into some Filipino’s and they asked me if I was Filipino because my skin is dark. Its just interesting who you run into in the smallest country in Africa! Here are a few more pics to show you….

a few…..
the first two pics are of Aysatou, my little sister in my family compound. The cutest girl with a true attitude! I will miss her, she helped me alot while I was there and she is only 3 years old. She cried when I left.

Still alive and going….
Everyone,
Our group finished PST (Pre service training) and back in Kombo from our training village Sara Samba. I have so many great pictures to show you! I found a nice bookstore with wifi and they close in 20 minutes due to Ramadon (Muslim holiday). PST was one of the most challenging events that I went through. I am very lucky to have experience upcountry life living without anything expect the clothes I brought and thank god for my ipod.
More to come soon, gotta go, finally there is a cool breeze outside from the so humid morning here. Yes, it was great to sleep til 7:45am and not hearing chickens, donkies, birds and children screaming at 615am like the village
