Back by popular demand….
Ayasatou and another girl from Sara Samba. I hope to visit the village again and take more pictures, they are priceless.
Chingling
Chingling is half Chinese and Gambian. I met her mother Fatou last weekend and they are both amazing! Chingling is a year and half years old and they live down the street from me. Fatou’s husband died in a motorcycle accident before Chingling was born and were only married for six months. Just a very sad and tragic story. Fatou wants to travel to China with Chingling to show them their grand daughter.
Elizabeth…
Elizabeth is a volunteer at the YMCA, I am teaching a few students “photography 101″ and they love it.

Cooling off….
The Sub Sahara desert is now finished with its raining season and probably will not see rain until next July. Actually, the weather has cooled off a bit but you are still looking for shade if your outside or looking for a cool room to sit in. Last Thursday, the new group of volunteers arrived in The Gambia. I was called to do the photography for the group for their official ID’s. I remember exactly my thoughts when I arrived here and what was going through my mind. In ways, you want to comfort them and other thoughts, you want to warn them! They are a good group of people and will be in Health and Environment.
Thanks to all that responded regarding the donations of the calendars. If people follow through, I will have plenty to donate to schools and place them in the classrooms. I appreciate all of your support! The picture that I attached is the Starbucks of The Gambia, good old instant Nescafe with milk, the only drink on the menu!
