Marcus Walton, Peace Corps Volunteer in Guyana & The Gambia

Cooling off….

The Sub Sahara desert is now finished with its raining season and probably will not see rain until next July.  Actually, the weather has cooled off a bit but you are still looking for shade if your outside or looking for a cool room to sit in.  Last Thursday, the new group of volunteers arrived in The Gambia.  I was called to do the photography for the group for their official ID’s.  I remember exactly my thoughts when I arrived here and what was going through my mind.  In ways, you want to comfort them and other thoughts, you want to warn them!  They are a good group of people and will be in Health and Environment.

Thanks to all that responded regarding the donations of the calendars.  If people follow through, I will have plenty to donate to schools and place them in the classrooms.  I appreciate all of your support!  The picture that I attached is the Starbucks of The Gambia, good old instant Nescafe with milk, the only drink on the menu!img_0417
