The first girl is Janaba and her smiling all the time is amazing.  The second girl again is Chingling.  She is not shy with me anymore and talks all the time, usually I have no idea what she is saying ;)

The Tobaski experience…

Tobaski was quite the experience to observe.  The Gambian’s usually buy new clothes to wear and everyone was quite fashionable.  I do have pictures of the slaughtering of the lambs but will show you the brighter side of the day.  These girls love their picture taken and live near my compound.collage3collage1

Tobaski coming….

The Muslim holiday Tobaski will start next Tuesday.  Everyone is out buying a ram to eat for it.  You just don’t go to the supermarket, buy ram meat and eat it, you buy a live one, kill it and then voila!  Should be interesting to experience it, my friend has invited me to his house and his two wives do cook very well ;)   I’m not sure yet if I want to see it being slaughtered, experiences are priceless right?

On a side note, a few more pictures of sweet Aysatou, everyone can’t get enough of seeing her.  I hope see is healthy and hope to see her again soon.
