The Serer compound in Banjul…

The Serer is one of the Gambian tribes. They are truly the working class of The Gambia. From domestic work, cooking and laundry, they do hard work here. These pictures are from a Serer compound in Banjul, I spent about one hour to observe and take some images.

Hello, your photos are beautiful, and are making me so home sick. I am an african american woman who moved to gambia in 2006, for the sheer love of being there, as I was enamored by its beauty, esp. in her women. i had to leave and return back to the states in 07 to work and support my family. However my house, children and husband are still there and i long to be reunited with them. thank you for sharing your beautiful pics and stories of gambia.
